Wednesday Wickedness - Bruce Springsteen

1. “When it comes to luck, you make your own.” Do you believe you have that type of control over your luck?
Nope, not one stitch. I'll give you an example why I know I can't control my own luck. Yesterday I went for a job interview. This job would be PERFECT for me. It is 2 and a half miles from my house. Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. It is a medical assisting position. Before I tell my tale let me preface that the interview went very well and I will know by Friday. I am also waiting on the ophthalmologist office. Anyway, back to my saga. I show up 15mins early to the interview. I give my name to the receptionist. She tells me to have a seat in the waiting room. I see two other women there waiting. I didn't know if they were patients or candidates. Well, that threw me off a little bit and I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Let's put it this way, if I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. I wiped out. Right in the waiting room. I didn't realize that there was a step down from the lobby to the waiting room area. It was like the earth was pulled out from under me. I couldn't control it. Plus, it was SO dramatic of a fall because you know how you try to "catch yourself" and run into it. But there was no catching myself. The ground caught me. I literally fell on all fours. My resume went in one direction and my purse went in the other direction. The first thought on my mind was: 'I hope I didn't bend my presentation folder.' This could only happen to me. It is HYSTERICAL now thinking back but man it hurt like hell. Luckily I didn't rip my pants. Anyway, so I get up, straighten myself up and go to retrieve my resume and purse. LOL! In the meantime, I realize that the two women were BOTH candidates. I was upset a little because I was nervous that they scheduled us all around the same time. On the other hand I was happy because they would be more interested in their job interview and not share the fact with the doctor and office manager that this idiot wiped out in the waiting room. The one girl was on the phone when I fell. I didn't even disturb her conversation. The other girl was texting, but she asked how I was. I said to her that I could check off "embarrass yourself" from my "To Do" list for the day. She was very concerned though which was nice. Luckily though the interview went extremely well. The two girls went in separately before me. The one that was on the phone stayed on the phone. She totally blew her chances at the job because when the interviewer called her she walked in still on the phone into the office! Can you even imagine? I timed her. She was out in less that 5 mins with no tour of the office. The concerned texting girl was out in 10 minutes which included a mini-tour of the office. (You could hear them through the wall talking). My interview lasted 35 minutes and included a full tour of the office along with the laboratory. I am keeping my fingers crossed!!! I'm not sure who they interviewed on Monday or have scheduled for today. But I have a good feeling I'm the top Tuesday interview. LOL! Not bad for someone who could have broken their neck for the job. Ummm literally!

2. “You've got to learn to live with what you can't rise above.” What is something you have had difficulty rising above?
Falling on my face...LOL

3. “Poor men wanna be rich, rich men wanna be kings, and a king ain’t satisfied till he rules everything.” Would you want to be rich?
I just want to be employed again!!!

4. “The best music is essentially there to provide you something to face the world with.” Tell us about a song that helps you "face the world."
"I Fall Down, But I Get Up Again"... (I'm on a roll here...LOL)

5. “In America everything's about who's number one today.” Have you ever been a fan of someone you thought would last but turned out to be a flash in the pan?
David Cook - Don't get me wrong, he still sells CDs but he isn't as popular as he was when he won American Idol. But he certainly has more staying power than alot of the other past winners.

6. “Is a dream a lie if it don't come true, or is it something worse?” Has any dream of yours come true?
I'm hoping one will come true by Friday!!! If it does, I literally can say I fell head over heels for the place. LOL!

7. “Our American government has strayed too far from American values. It is time to move forward. The country we carry in our hearts is waiting.” What would you change if you became the president?
Help this country out more during tragedies. We are so quick to help other countries which isn't a bad thing, but step up the game here first!

8. "Yeah, I had gay friends. The first thing I realized was that everybody's different, and it becomes obvious that all of the gay stereotypes are ridiculous." How do you feel about gay rights?
I think that everyone should have rights no matter what sex, race, creed, sexual orientation. It's a human issue.

9. " It's a sad man my friend who's living in his own skin and can't stand the company." Have you ever been disappointed in yourself?
Yes, I was disappointed that I didn't see that step. I was happy though that I didn't dirty or bend my presentation folder. At least it got thrown from my hands gracefully.

10. "The best music is essentially there to provide you something to face the world with." What's your favorite type of music? What's your favorite band?
Rock and Roll. Singer=Elvis. Band=The Beatles.

First of all, I am SO happy that you are okay! I have a great feeling about this job, I told you before, I feel even more so now! David Cook has been handled awful;ly. You don't go and be the ONLY Idol not to appear on the final show. Whoever writes his songs sucks. Next to Daughtry, he was my favorite contestant. His cover songs were awesome. His album was just ok...
