Thursday Thunks Meme

1. We know how creative Berleen is with her terrific tee-shirts and such, so how about you? Do you draw anything or perhaps your name in the sand when you go to the beach?

No, but my husband Larry did! Look at how sweet he is. I was sitting looking at the ocean and he walked away for awhile. I get a text message with this picture...

2. Kimber doesn’t always leave her house. I wonder if she knows what is out her back door. What is out your back door?
If I only had a back door so I can answer this question.

3. Do you prefer the beach, a pool or a lake? Why?
Pool for swimming. Ocean for listening to and watching the waves come in. Oh yes and for walks. I prefer the pool for swimming because I don't like sand in certain places.

4. What is something recently that happened to you that you are REALLY excited about?
MY NEW JOB! I don't know if I mentioned that?? LOL Oh yes, and my weight loss.

5. I am fortunate that I come from a very close family. Are any of your great-grandparents still alive? If not did you ever meet them?
Unfortunately I never got an opportunity to even meet my grandparents. They were all deceased when I was born, as were my great-grandparents.

6. When was the last time you spoke in front of a large group? Tell us about it.
I was asked to go back and speak to the new class at the University where I attended for my medical assistant certification. The Professor thought it would be good for the new class to hear a positive employment story. Alot are frightened they won't find work with this economy.

7. Have you ever bungee jumped? Would you ever bungee jump?
No and NO way.

8. How strong emotionally do you think you are?
Alot stronger than I used to be.

9. Kimber and Berleen still have NEVER met, yet they are best friends. What is the first thing you notice about people when you meet them?
Usually their eyes or their smile.

10. Who do you mess with the most?
My husband Larry. It's fun.

11. Who was the last person you talked to on a landline?
Larry..he talked to me on his drive into work. He works a horrendous graveyard shift.

12. I finally saw Avatar this week. What was the last movie you watched long after it came out and loved?
"Gone With The Wind". I saw it back in high school...but that is as far as one can get when you ask for one that was out long before you saw it. hehehe

13. What did you dream about last night?
Ok. You asked. I actually had a dream that Harley (my cat) threw up. I don't know why. I just did. Guess what? This evening he did throw up. So I am calling my dream.."Prelude To A Puke". Hey, you asked!

Thursday Thunks: Never Agree In The First Place

Photobucket

1. When was the last time that you made an excuse for not doing something that you shouldn't have agreed to do in the first place?
Nothing comes to mind right away. That could be that I haven't had my coffee yet.

2. Without identifying the person, is there someone in your life that you'd like to shake some sense into?
For the love of God - YES! I can't stress it enough. Since all you asked is if there is someone in your life, we'll just leave it at that. But, this person actually knows I want to shake them.

3. Did you ever really care if Tiger Woods cheated on his wife?
Honestly I could give a rats hinds end what he did. That is his issue with his wife, not the public. I also think it is crazy that he had to apologize to the public. He had "some 'splaining to do" to his wife, not me.

4. Did you watch the last episode of LOST? What did you think happened?
Juliet & Sawyer Pictures, Images and Photos
Ummm...YES! Sadly my heart was broken because it is over. I've watched faithfully for the past 6yrs. My Josh Holloway's scene was heart-wrenching when he had his "awakening". Each character in the sideways stories had awakenings that brought them out of a purgatory that they were in and they were all ready to cross over into what I want to call Heaven. Since they all were on the island together, the most important years of their lives was on the island. They all died at some point in their lives. Whether it was on the island or after they left. But they were in a purgatory and needed to let go so they could cross over into Heaven. The island time was real. I'm so glad because if it had been a dream, I would have been pissed off.

5. If your dining room china was made in Mexico, why is it still called china?
You would need to consult the book of Imponderables for that one. I haven't the foggiest.

6. Tell us about your favorite movie of all time.
Favorite Dramatic Movie
GONE with the WIND Pictures, Images and Photos
Favorite Comedy Movie (I LOVE Jack Lemmon)
fdghdf Pictures, Images and Photos
7. Do you think it's fair to get thrown out of a meme?
Absolutely not. Freedom of speech my friend!

8. Berleen lives in Minnesota and Kimber in Arizona. If they were to meet halfway, where would they meet?
Too bad it wasn't Meriden CT. I hear great people meet there.

9. What do you think of heterosexual marriage?
I'm all for it.

10. What would you change about your life if you had just one wish?
That my Mom would still be living.

11. How pissed are you that we posted late?
Who am I to judge?

12. Tell us about a recent great day.
The last really great day I had was on Memorial Day. Larry and I went "down the shore" and had a fun day at the beach and boardwalk.

13. When was the last time that you juggled?
I don't frequently juggle.

10. Why does a hat have a bill?
Ok, maybe it's because I haven't had my coffee yet. But, WHAT? I really don't know how to respond to this question. So instead I found evidence that a bill has a hat. And, the correct one at that.

I just want to know how Thom is going to get his bus to the mainland.

5. Tell us about your pets. Do you have one that you wish would run away?
Well I have my Harley cat and I would be DEVASTATED if he ran away. He is my heart. My hubby has some koi fish in a tank that don't bother me. The only "pet" I'm not fond of is his turtle. He smells.

6. What was the last thing colored red that you wore?
I don't wear red. It is too bright. I like dark colors. I do wear maroon however. The last maroon thing I wore was my scrubs just the other day.

7. I have a train that runs by where I live several times a day. I actually find it peaceful. What's the longest journey that you have taken by train?

One excuse she gave was the she "blamed it on the Mountain Dew" (apparently she had it late the night before and it kept her up) Another time she said her car wouldn't go in reverse so she couldn't back out of her driveway. Oh yes and who can forget the time that she glued her hand to the table.

14. Can we stop now?
YES! LOL

Thursday Thunks - Bud Style

Photobucket
1. Someone knocks on your door. You have not seen this person in years. You were once great friends. Who would you like it to be and why?
I would love it to be my friend Jennifer from California. Her & I went to high school together. She moved out to LA and went to college out there. She flew back to be in my wedding in 1997. I haven't seen her since then.

2. What do you think would be a great song title that isn't one? Who do you want to record it?
"Holy Moly" by Taylor Swift

3. You are having a party. If I'm invited, what should I bring?
Smirnoff of course Bud.

4. If your spouse or s/o cheated with a one night stand while away, would you really want to know?
Yes I would want to know so I can pack his things. Chances are if they cheat once, they will cheat again. Plus with all the diseases going around, I wouldn't want to be passed anything because of someone's indiscretion.

5. How long does it take for a house guest to drive you bonkers?
I don't have house guests anymore. I don't have any extra rooms unfortunately.

6. If you could pick a new color for the sky, what would you pick?
Plum

7. What did you think of the Olympics?
They were good. Ice dancing was my favorite. I also like figure skating, some speed skating, and some freestyle skiing.

8. Could TT have thought of a lamer blogger that me to guest host?
Are you kidding? They picked the best.

9. What's the stupidest lie that someone really thought you'd believe?
That they loved me.

10. What was the best day you had in high school? Tell us about it.
Ok, this is going to sound lame to alot of people. But to me, it was amazing. My nun friend I met back in high school because she was my campus minister. She had just taken her final vows. We are about 14yrs apart in age. I was part of the campus ministry and she and I were doing a novena to Saint Therese of Liseux (The Little Flower). When you do a novena to her, she is supposed to send you a rose as a sign. Well one day, I was in her classroom which was set up like a rec room because it was the campus ministry. She is sitting at her desk & I'm sitting on her couch. It was just the two of us. Anyway, while we were there a man came in there with a flower delivery of a dozen yellow roses. Someone sent them to her as a thank you for something she had done for them. BUT, 1) They were roses. 2) We who had been doing the novena together were in the same room at the same time when the roses got delivered. They could have been delivered at anytime during the day. To me, it was a sign. You had to see the way we looked at each other when he left the room. Here exact words being a nun and all.."OH MY GOD!"

11. Name something that you have in your home that you are sure most people don't.
My husband. LOL!

13. Do you think homophobia is a choice?
I say you can't help who you love. And, it really isn't anyones business if someone is gay or not. It is their life and they have the right to live it as they choose. I support love.

I Thunk It On Friday

Photobucket
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the color of blood, and the number negative 18.

1. Kimber is freaking out because I didn't get the TT done yesterday. I had a busy day. Will you ever forgive me?
Of course I will forgive you. I have been a horrible blogger for the past few months. Who am I to judge? LOL

2. So this weekend is Valentine's Day. When you think of yourself and this love-filled holiday, what is biggest memory?

Actually my biggest memory is not exactly on VDay but a few days later. I met Larry on Feb 17th 1996. When I went to work on Monday, in the late morning a flower delivery person brought me a dozen beautiful roses in a gorgeous vase. Attached was a card Larry hand-wrote that read..."These are for not knowing you on Valentine's Day. So glad we met". How cute was that? I will never forget that.

3. Pajama pants. Who knew it could have so many fricken opinions. (Seriously... if you don't believe me) Would you... do you... could you wear PJ pants to a store?

No, not to a store. To bed and maybe to get the mail outside. That's about it.

4. I'm gonna give you one of those big heart candy boxes on Sunday. Are you an expert at chocolate candies and already know whats inside them all or will you just take whichever one and enjoy it no matter what is inside or are you one of those people who sticks their finger in the bottom of the candy to see what the filling is then puts it back if you don't like it?

I pretty much could tell the caramel ones. Other than that, if I don't like it, I give it to Larry.

5. Scented Candles - whats your favorite?

Black cherry or Mulberry.

6. Snow sucks. We've mostly all been hit. What kind of snow shovel do you have? (The rest of you who live in sunny no-snow places... tell me your favorite sunscreen brand)

We need to invest in a regular snow shovel. Poor Larry dug out our cars with a dirt shovel/spade.

7. The first thing I thought of this morning when I woke up was "Oh crap. Kimber's gonna be pissed...." then I had a whole bunch of good ideas for questions to ask. Now I can't remember them. Do you keep a notebook next to your bed for times like that?

Nope. I should keep one for the dreams I have. I remember them when I wake up then forget them 5 minutes later. What's up with that?

8. Have you ever seen a groundhog in real, you can touch it and it will bite you, life?

Nope and nor do I care to. The little bastards are usually right about long winters so I hold a grudge.

9. Is there any key on your keyboard that is starting to wear off? Which one is it?

Got a new computer last spring...so they are all still intact.

10. Do you think Kimber should move to Minnesota and take long walks in the snow with Berleen?

Actually I think Berleen should move to Arizona and get away from the snow. I would love to migrate to Arizona or New Mexico. Larry won't let me though. Yeah, yeah, yeah...something about his job and our families and friends. I despise the winter.

Thursday Thunks

1. My daughter (aka Demon #1) informed me the other day that her hugs were worth a million dollars. Would you give up hugs - giving and receiving - for the rest of your life, for a million dollars?
I probably would pass it up because I could not get by in my life without hugging my husband and my Harley cat....and other members of my family and friends.

2.Have you ever been bitten by a member of the canine family?
Yes when I was a little girl I got bit by a cocker spaniel.

3. What is your favorite color of jeans?
I'm digging these new ones I have that are almost black but considered a blue-black.

4. What is something that has changed in public schools that you wish was the norm when you were in school?
N/A because I went to Catholic school for both grammar & high school.

5. What is your news source?
Popeater.com CNN.com or AOL homepage

6. What sort of people do you think read your blog?
Wonderful people ♥

7. If I told you that I had a headache, you would say..........???
"take 3 Advil and call me in the morning"

8. You go to a buffet style restaurant, what is the first food you put on your plate?
These days....salad.

9. If you were stranded on a desert island.... no, we aren't asking that again. Lets put a twist into this. Would you volunteer to be dropped off on a desert island, to be picked up in a month? And you don't get to bring those 3 items, either.
Why the hell would I volunteer to be dropped off on a deserted island? As the old saying goes...what's in it for me? Cause if I had to be on something like Survivor, I'd be putting out my own torch in about 5 minutes...even if Josh Holloway was holding it. Ok, maybe not.

10. When the sun sets, what are you usually doing?
Probably eating dinner since it is setting earlier these days.

I Thunk It A Day Late As Usual

(PLEASE NOTE: I will be reading and commenting tonight on my regular blogs. I wanted to get my post up before I left the house!!! )
Hello Everyone! I'm finally recovered from my "day at the beach". I cannot tell you how hot it was there on Monday. I thought I was going to melt on the boardwalk. Now remember, because of my lymphedema in my legs, I have to wear compression stockings. Let's just say compression stockings with jeans over them along with 95 degree weather, do not mix. Trust me. I can't stress it enough.

Yesterday, I took a drive down to see my sister in her new home. That is why my Thunks are a day late and a dollar fifty short. I took two cute pictures of my nephewdogs. (I created a new word)
Here is Chester, the four year old chocolate lab....
Photobucket
Here is Max, the nine year old yellow lab....
Photobucket

Both have Aunt Jodi wrapped around their paws.

Speaking of Aunt Jodi, here is a new pic before I went down there. Before I got dog hair all over my new Elvis shirt.
Photobucket

Onto Thursday Thunks...sorry Kimber & Berleen that I'm late all the time. I know the saying goes, "Better late than never", it has become my mantra.

Photobucket
1. Hypothetical question- you are in a building with famous works of art, old manuscripts of famous novels, and original sheet music from famous composers. The building is on fire and looks to be completely destroyed. Do you grab any of the famous works before fleeing, and if so what?
If it is completely destroyed then why would I grab anything? LOL...OK, maybe you just meant the building. Well, pending the stuff wasn't bolted down, I would grab anything Elvis related. Duh!

2. In August 1969, the Manson family went on a 2 night killing spree. Do you think 40 years later they have paid for their crimes?
I honestly think that if someone takes a life that their life should be taken from them. Not necessarily by death penalty...I think they should be imprisoned for the rest of their life. This Fromme woman that just got released had several run-ins during her prison stay; attacking someone with a hammer and an escape. I don't think 40 years can necessarily rehabilitate a person.

3. Power Outage! What's the longest you have been without power?
Three days and I would not like to ever repeat it thanks.

4. Just bought a new tazer gun. Will you let it be tested it on you to see if it works, and how it feels to be tazered?
Let's not and say we did. Ummmm, NO thanks I'll take a pass on that one. Don't feel like having current shudder through my body and convulse on the ground.

5. A neighbor's mail was delivered to you. In it is a magazine not wrapped in plastic. Is it ok for you to flip through it before giving it to the neighbor? Do you tell them you looked through it?
I will confess!! I have done this with a Cosmopolitan once. When I lived in an apartment complex many moons ago, someone's Cosmo was shoved into my locked mailbox. It wasn't like I could put it into her mailbox since they were all locked boxes. So, I took it up to my apartment and looked through it. I then went to lady's apartment and left it by her apartment door. She lived on another floor. Hey, at least I returned it. LOL And no, I did not tell her I looked through it because I didn't know her.

6. If I went through your purse/wallet right now, what all would I find in there?
Squat. NJ unemployment barely gives you enough to pay your bills let alone have extra for your wallet. I think I have less than $20 in my wallet. I have an almost maxxed out credit card, my driver's license, and my Subway loyalty card. Thanks Jared!!! 79 pounds gone now..woot!!!

7. Have you been living under a rock?
It feels like that sometimes. Now that I have "more time", it doesn't feel like I have "enough". Does that make sense? I feel very lost sometimes.

8. Tell us something crazy you did this week.
OH, this one is EASY. Something crazy would be going to the beach/boardwalk in 95 degree, sunny weather with compression stockings and jeans on. Yep, I did that. Why you ask? Well because my lunatic husband says we needed to "do" something before the summer is over. It was his day off and that is what he wanted "to do". I sweltered, melted, and my legs almost ignited. Yeah, loads of fun. Loads.

Thursday Thunks

Photobucket
You can play HERE
1. You walk into a store and the cashier is being held up by a robber. The robber's accomplice is dead on the floor at your feet with a shotgun laying next to him. The robber does not see you, but the cashier does - what do you do?
(wonders how come Berleen & Kimber always put me in these life threatening situations) Let's see, I would probably run like hell out of the store and hope for the best. I'm not hero material when a deadly weapon is involved.

2. We go to an ice cream shop for an ice cream cone. You say you are buying and I am going to stay in the car. You ask me what I want and I say "surprise me", what kind of ice cream cone am I going to get?
Actually you wouldn't get an ice cream cone. If "calories didn't count", I would get you a Dairy Queen Blizzard with mixed in oreo cookies and peanut butter sauce. It is excellent. Well, when I used to eat dessert it was.

3. You have a dream that your co-worker, friend or whoever is hit by a garbage truck after they back into a ladder with a black cat on it. The next day you see that person standing by a ladder with a black cat on it and there is a garbage truck driving down the road.... what do you do?
I would probably yell out to them to "come here". Just in case. Can never be too safe.

4. What is the most money you've won on a lottery or scratch off ticket?
Back in 2002, I played the Pick 4 and I won $400 because I had double numbers...I remember them too 7-8-7-8...I won the box. It wasn't straight I think how it came out was 7887.

5. A neighbor kid down the street comes to your door and offers to wash all of your windows outside for $10 - do you have him do it?
No because he'll be bugging me to do it every week. Greedy kid.

6. Go to Google Images. Type in the name of the last movie you saw. Post the first picture that comes up.

Mall Cop Pictures, Images and Photos
7. Your local animal shelter calls you and says there are 3 dogs that need an immediate foster home for 3 days. If you do not accept, the dogs are put down that day. Do you take them in?
Sure, I would take them and take a ride to see both my sister & Sue and divvy them up to them. LOL. I can't have dogs in my apartment complex or I would take them.

8. What is the messiest room in your home?
My bedroom.

9. Have you ever been to a wedding that participated in a strange tradition that you had never heard of?
Luckily, no.

10. Name one sport that you just don't get.
Football. No matter what, to me, it is just men running with a ball and knocking each other over. Plus I don't understand the whole "yards" thing.

11. What was the last email that came into your inbox about?
It was probably a sale in a store I shop in.

12. Have you ever purchased anything from a sex shop? Extra points if you tell us what it was....
Never...Just curious though...what point system are we on? Where do those extra points go?

13. Go back to that Google Images link... type in the last food item that you ate. Post the 2nd picture it comes up with.

gala apple Pictures, Images and Photos
14. Got any bumper stickers on your vehicle? What are they?
No bumper stickers. I hate to stick them to my car because they ruin the paint.

15. What meme question do you wish was never asked again?
Anything about my "ex" - blech!

Thursday Thunks - Five Heads, Gunshots, and Cows..Oh My!

Photobucket
1. Do you know anyone with heterochromia? Does it freak you out or do you think it's interesting?
No, I never met anyone with that. I'd think it was cool though.

2. Should a 5th face be added to Mount Rushmore? If so, who?
As you can imagine, I would go with the last face on this picture. (Did you expect anything else?)
Photobucket
3. If you could live on any planet other than earth, which one would you choose and why?
I'd go to Ork with Mork just so I could say "shazbot" and "na-nu, na-nu".
Photobucket
4. We're going to spend the night at a reportedly haunted location, are you going with us?
If so, which reportedly haunted place are we going?
Umm, let's not and say we did.

5. Did you play The Queen's Meme this week? If so, was it fair of The Queen to put Berleen in the dungeon by association with Kimber? (We all know Kimber deserved it, but Berleen?!)
No, I did not play because as always I'm a day (or two) late and about $25 short.

6. What color is the towel(s) hanging in your bathroom?
DARK PURPLE

7. Tell us something funny that happened to you recently.
I can't think of anything that happened to me recently that was funny. Seriously. My life is so boring these days.

8. We just bought you a cow. Do you kill it & grill it, feed it & milk it, or sell it?
If I had the land, I would feed it & milk it.

9. It's 115 degrees outside (46 degrees Celsius), are you able to go without Air Conditioning?
I think that hot would put my asthma into overdrive. So, I'll say umm, NO.

Proof that Sue isn't the only one INSANE - Plus A Thunk A Day Late!

(Thursday Thunks are below the pictures)
At the end of June was Sue's cat Redford's birthday. She threw him an awesome birthday party!! She claimed to be insane. I thought there was nothing wrong with what she did...in fact, I applauded it. Today is my Harley's 16th birthday. Since Harley is on a veterinary diet and I'm doing my own "lifestyle change", Harley got a birthday balloon & some toys for his special SWEET 16. Yes, I am insane, I know it. Hehehehe

Harley was more interested in the red curly ribbon. He tried eating it.

The perfect face in my eyes!!! Better a day late than not at all right?

Nah, I'd try to avoid it. I don't fancy bug guts on the bottom of my shoe.

2. What is one fantasy that you want to come true more than any other?
For Elvis to really be alive. No, I'm not one of those fans that believe he is and is hiding. I know he is dead. I would just have loved the opportunity to have been able to meet him. Plus I think he'd like my tattoo of him. LOL!

3. Someone knocks on your door. Do you look out the window to see who it is before you open it? Do you open it regardless of who it is?
Ok, what stinks here is that I live in an apartment that doesn't have a window near the door nor does it have a peep hole. I only open the door when I know someone is coming over. If I'm not expecting anybody, I will not open it.

1. What kind of dryer sheets do you use?
We do the laundry at my in-laws house and since my mother-in-law is allergic to dryer sheets and we are using her machine, we do not use any. Don't want to bite the hand that lets you do laundry at their house for free.

2. How many times a week do you eat out/order in?

Probably four. I know it is bad but by the time I get home at night it sometimes is the quickest way.

3. What did you do the night of your high school graduation?

I went right home after graduation. My Mom had been very sick from her chemotherapy treatments and wasn't able to come that evening so my sisters videotaped it for her. After the ceremony, I went home and watched it with her so she could experience it the same day. It was very upsetting to her that she couldn't come.

9. Tell us about a time when you were invited over somewhere and had the most awful time.

It had to be the blind date with the "Jon Bon Jovi" guy before I met my husband. Someone set me on this blind date. This guy was obsessed with Jon Bon Jovi. I went out with him once in 1995. This guy looked like he walked off the "You Give Love A Bad Name" video. He had skin tight jeans, a fringed leather jacket, and his big hair - what? - 10yrs later. He even carried a picture of him & Jon when he met him in his wallet. When I got in his car, Bon Jovi was in his tape deck. He took me to Jeckyll and Hydes night club in New York City where we were shoved in like sardines. We later went to a place called - no lie - The Slaughtered Lamb where he proceeded to get drunk on a yard of ale. I could not wait to get home. That was the first and last I ever saw him.

10. You open your front door and there is a box with a puppy in it... what do you do?
I would ooh and awww it and be so happy to see the puppy. I would then call up my sister and see if she would take him/her because she has a big backyard. I wouldn't be able to keep the puppy unfortunately because in my lease I'm only allowed to have one cat. My sister has two dogs so she probably wouldn't mind adding another.
