Hello Everyone! Just dropping in to say hello & to let you know that I will be catching up on everyone's blogs tonight or tomorrow to read and comment on. I didn't want you to think I forgot you all.
Today when I was driving, I almost got hit. Luckily I didn't! I was getting off an exit and it was one of those really tight loop turns. When I started the turn, I saw up ahead on the exit a State Trooper's car with the lights on so I slowed down. I was driving really slow because it was EXTREMELY icy. I was going less than 5mph. Well this jerk behind me was riding my butt. Sure enough, my car slid sideways and almost hit the curb on the loop this guy behind me didn't want to wait and slid around me. He almost hit me from behind and almost side-swiped me because he couldn't wait. The State Trooper made him stop because he saw what he did and started hollering at him for doing it. What I finally saw was the reason besides the icing condition he was there....there was a passenger van in a ditch with the trees. He must have taken the turn too fast and jumped the curb and fell into the ditch. They were going to close the exit. I got in before they did.
I was freaking out because in my rearview mirror I saw two more cars coming up. Luckily they were going slow but the thing is, when you get up to the point I was at it was a solid sheet of ice. So, I did a bad thing and gave a tiny hit to my horn to signal to the Trooper that we had to keep going. He comes to the window and says "Calm down Ma'am". I told him I was scared someone was going to plow into me if we didn't move. He told me to just take it slow when I go. Duh! Thank God though, the man in the passenger van was OK. He had his window down and was looking at what was going on with me and the jerk that went around me. Poor guy needed to pass the time I guess waiting until somebody can pull the van out of the ditch.
To all my bloggy friends...please drive real safe. This was such a scary experience for me today. I don't want anything to happen to any of you. Luckily it worked out today for me, but it is true what they say...we can be as cautious as we can be, but all it takes is for someone else not to be so cautious to cause an accident.

That is scary. I am sorry you had to experience that. It is so scary, it really is. The weather is starting to get bad here and I think about the morning drive after things have had all night to freeze up. ugh. Drive super safe.
This is one of the reasons why I don't like winter!
OMG Jodi!! I'm so thankful that you are safe!! I hate driving on ice and especially when you know that you can't stop because if you do you won't be able to get going again. People like that jerk behind you need to have their asses whipped!!! Seriously!!
Thank God you're ok! I will be so glad when this winter is over!
Stay safe ...hugs!
