I felt bad for my hubby because he got home from work around 9am, showered & then went to sleep. He slept about 4hrs. After he got up, we went to a BBQ at a couple's house that we are great friends with. We stayed later than expected. I wound up taking him to work. As I type this, he is working his graveyard shift. He must be totally exhausted. The graveyard shift is horrible. I can't believe I'm blogging now after 1am! I have to pick him up from work at around 8am. Oh well, I guess I got my second wind.
Anyway...onto the festivities....
Question 1: Who do you think is the hottest movie star?
This is an easy one. Since Elvis is deceased, I will name my other favorite....
Josh Holloway who plays James "Sawyer" Ford on LOST. I mean really!!! Just look at that beautiful face.
Question 2: Apart from your house and your car, what is the most expensive thing you have ever bought?
My Dell laptop
Question 3: What is your most treasured memory?
I know many of you know that I lost my Mom to cancer when I was 18yrs old. She was the most beautiful person I have ever met. Selfless, loving, and genuine. Anyway, she was always a homebody. I was going to karaoke about 2 nights a week with some friends after I turned 18. I hated to leave her but she insisted that I get out of the house. Well one week, maybe about 2 months before she died, she asked me if she could come along. I was SO happy to say yes. I didn't think that she would ever want to come. I didn't know if she "knew" she wasn't going to die soon because it was not something that she would have normally done. Due to the chemo & radiation, my Mom lost her hair. She wore a wig that evening to the sports bar we went to. She kept asking me if she looked OK. I kept telling her she looked beautiful. She did to me. We had the BEST time together that night. It is one of my favorite cherished memories. Not only did I go up to sing, but guess what - she came up and sang with me!!! Again, something that she never would have done before. The gentleman running the machine taped it on a cassette tape for us which I still have to this day. I wanted my Mom to choose the song. She chose Bill Wither's version of "Lean On Me". All these years later, I cannot listen to that song without crying. That was one of the best nights of my life.
Question 4: What is the best gift you’ve ever received as a child?
My crucifix ring my Mom gave me when I graduated the 8th grade.
Question 5: What is the biggest mistake you’ve ever made?
I'd rather not say - LOL
Question 6: Give four words to describe yourself.
Funny, strong, loyal, genuine
Question 7: What was your highlight or lowlight of 2008?
One highlight I can think of is starting my blog and meeting SO many wonderful people in 2008.
Question 8: What was your most embarrassing moment?
Well, it was more like my most embarrassing situation I was involved in. Back in Catholic High School, my best friend Colleen and I were in study hall cramming for our Biology mid-term exam which was the next period. It was just us and another girl named Jennifer. Anyway, one of the priests comes in named Fr Humphrey. He was a Franciscan Friar, long brown robe and all. He sits down and starts talking to us and asking us all kind of questions. Knowing Colleen, I could tell she was getting irritated because all she wanted to do was study. Well, he kept talking and talking. He then asked her, "So Colleen, what is biology?" She was just trying to answer him as quickly as she could to get him to be quiet and leave so she could get back to studying. She replied, "Well Father, it is the study of living orgasms." Jennifer and I almost died right there. Colleen had no idea what she said. She then looks at us with a questioning look. She noticed that we were trying to stifle laughter. Father Humphrey abruptly gets up and says, "good luck on your exam ladies" and leaves. She thought she said 'organism', but she didn't!!!! So funny yet SO embarrassing.
Question 9: Tell something not generally known about yourself.
That I am a Eucharistic Minister for my parish.
Question 10: If you were a comic strip/cartoon character, who would you be?

You're a eucharistic minister - that's wonderful!
You know I love your stories about your mom. I think having that cassette is awesome. My day is 83 and sings in piano bars. My sister keeps bugging me to take her video camcorder to film him. I know I'll rergret it if I don't get around to it...
OMG the orgasm/organism story is great. I think we all heard someone do that in high school. And I forgot about cute little Super Grover....poor Grover is always trying to be cooler than he is lol
