Saturday 9: Dying To Know

You can play along here

1. What do you believe happens when we die?
I believe our soul goes to either Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory. (I was raised Catholic)

2. Do you consider yourself religious?

Yes

3. Do you believe in ghosts?

I'd like to say no because the thought of them kinda scare me.

4. Do you believe that people live on other planets?

No

5. Have you ever seen something abnormal?

No

6. Do you believe in reincarnation?

No

7. Have you ever witnessed a miracle?

No, but I have had them happen around me like the births of my nephews & nieces, people getting healed from diseases, etc. Those are miracles to me.

8. Is there a person living or dead that influences your philosophies?

Jesus

9. Is there a work of fiction that closely matches your spiritual beliefs?

Oh No!! Not another book question...LOL! No, there isn't a fiction book that matches my beliefs and in case you were wondering, there isn't a book that has changed my life either...(Regulars will get that...LOL)

I am a recovering Roman Catholic. It was scary to leave the protection of that belief system when I started not believing it...but I feel so much more in touch with God since I did.

Your answers could be my Mom's answers, she is a devout Roman Catholic.

Great answers! You know... I went to a catholic school for a few years. Still keep the bible next to my bed. Even though I am not a Christian:)

I was raised Catholic, too. I never got the purgatory thing. Or limbo. Limbo was creepy. I hear it doesn't eist anymore. But it has been a long time since I was Catholic...(Not that there's anything wrong with that. It just didn't work for me.)

I was raised Lutheran, so we are first cousins. We didn't have purgatory. :-) I heard they got rid of Limbo, though, which would be a good thing, but how do you just cancel it? I've always been intrigued by that.

I don't consider myself religious at all, because I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, and I notice it's not really as prevalent as I once thought. My Grandmother did her best to instill those values in me, but as she only had me for 3 months of a year, it didn't really stick. I find it difficult to believe that it can stick after being raised in it, but that's only because I don't question it when it presents itself.
Yay for miracles!
Happy Saturday :o)
