The Price of Hollywood

WOW, the internet is buzzing over shots of Miley Cyrus by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. I went & looked at them & by no means can you tell that this child is 15 years old. She can pass for someone in their mid-twenties. She was shot by Leibovitz for a Vanity Fair Shoot . I've noticed that in the past few months that this child has grown into an adult right before our eyes. The sad part is that her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is with her so much of the time & is allowing this to happen. He is pictured with her in some of the photos. The way she is pictured laying across his lap does not look like a father/daughter pose in my opinion. The other photos - egads! In her parent's defense, they had left before the "controversial" photograph was taken. But, in my opinion, they should have seen the proofs and approved of the photo selection. She is underage & they need their permission. In this photograph in question, she has clothes on but appears to be nude. She has a sheet draped in front of her with her full back exposed down to her rear-end. My question is this, why give the illusion of her being nude when this child is only 15yrs old? They call it artsy, I call it a shame. What is the cost of fame? She is prematurely losing her innocence in front of millions of people. Look what happened to Britney Spears. I'm afraid for Miley, that this will happen to her and at what cost? She is SO popular with young children & teens. What example is this setting for them? Billy Ray has stated many a time that he will keep a close eye on her. If this is keeping a close eye, I wonder if he wasn't what would happen.

Both Miley and Annie Leibovitz have now "apologized" for the photos and say that they were misinterpreted. Let this be a learning lesson to Miley to enjoy her youth because you can never get it back. Let her know that she has so many fans that consider her a role model, may she act appropriately as one to them. Let this be a learning lesson to Annie as well.

I know the types of pics she shoots, you do, Vanity fair does, and everyone else does...and the Cyrus's should too. There's no misinterpretation.

You know what they say: Easier to ask for forgiveness after than permission before.
