"The Road Not Taken"

Photobucket

By, Robert Frost ©1916

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

HELLO EVERYONE! I just love that poem. Robert Frost is one of my favorite poets. I saw that picture and he immediately popped into my mind.

I hope that everyone had a nice day today. I still am not feeling well. The good news is the throbbing in my ear stopped. The bad news is that it still hurts though. It is so strange. It hurts in front of the ear, underneath and behind. All those glands are swollen. My throat & eyes are both itchy. It really sounds like a sinus infection or flare-up. I started taking Mucinex-D last night. I'm on my third dose tonight. So hopefully that will do the trick. I really don't want to get sick.

I did find out some good news though. I still have 8 days off of work left between vacation and sick days. Normally during Christmas time it is slow. I brought it up to my boss that I had these days and he said, "Why don't you take them during Christmas?". He was having us both be off on Christmas, the day after, New Year's, and the day after. So, I am using 6 of my 8 days. The Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of each week. SO....I will be off for two weeks in a row! It is VERY quiet during those weeks because alot of our corporate accounts close. He would rather me be off when it is quiet. Normally we are very busy so if I took the time off in October or November, he would be swamped and doesn't want to get stressed out. So if you add the 10 working days, the weekends before, in the middle, and the right before I go back - I will be off for 16 day! Hooray! I haven't had that much time off in a row since our honeymoon back in 1997. I am so happy! Plus, with the weather in NJ, that is 16 less winter commute days for me. Plus I still have 2 days in case of an emergency or if I don't feel good etc. I am really looking forward to it. I plan to do ALOT of writing during that time, spending quality time with Harley, and actually getting to see my husband on his days off (since we have opposite ones). So with all my not feeling well, this helps it be bearable.

I love that poem too, the picture is perfect for it!
I hope you're feeling better today, ear aches are no fun.
Wow, that's going to be so nice having all that time off around the holidays! I'm jealous, we can't take time off then and only get the actual holiday off, cause we're closed. hahaha Oh well...the bonus makes up for that!
Happy Wednesday! Have a beautiful day!

Sue - I know, isn't the picture just beautiful? I love Robert Frost. Oh how I so want to be on a road like that sometimes!

Yes, I have to say, the bonus you get does make up for it. A bonus would be nice. Here's hoping he doesn't change his mind and let me keep those as my vacation days. I always get nervous that a last minute change will get me you know?

I wonder how Abby is...did you sleep on the floor with her? Jenny said she did the same thing with all of her dogs.

I am actually feeling a little better today although my throat is getting a little more "annoying". I'm having to clear it alot and it has this annoying tickle. The ear pressure got less overnight too. Thank God. It still hurts but less than yesterday. I'm going to take another dose of Mucinex-D and see if that helps during the day.

Have a great day my friend. Happy Wednesday. Give kisses to Abby from me & Harley. (meow)

A beautiful verse, yes.

It makes you think that he could write that when he must have pondered death every day.

Maybe that's exactly why he DID think that way.
