Thankful Thursday

Tonight I watched a new show called "Secret Millionaire" . Did anyone else watch it on Fox? It was a very heartwarming show. My husband told me I shouldn't watch it because I cried through the whole thing. I am a very sensitive person. At one point I was sobbing. Really. I LOVED the first hour.

From Fox.com

Challenged with living on minimum wage, the millionaires will immerse themselves in situations beyond their comprehension. They work with with community members and befriend those in need. Then they decide who of their new-found friends, neighbors or co-workers should ultimately receive their extraordinary gifts, at least $100,000 of their own money.

The first hour showed a woman who uses her social security money each month to buy groceries for 20-30 homeless people. She feeds them and gives them a place to stay in her home if they need shelter - everyday! This woman, God bless her, is a senior citizen who lives off of her social security. She loves these men, women, and children and they love her. I was SO happy that the millionaire gave her $50,000 to help her with the costs of helping others. The millionaire also awarded $50,000 to a family whose little girl has bone cancer and the parents do not have health insurance. Lastly, he gave $25,000 to a woman who lost her house and owes an extreme amount of money in medical bills due to a major back surgery. She was homeless for over a year and is just starting to get back on her feet. When she thought they were homeless she gave them work and offered to make them breakfast in the morning. What amazing stories. What heartwarming and heartbreaking stories.

That being said, today I am thankful for the kindness, selflessness, and charity of others. There are so many unsung heroes in this world. People who do for others out of the kindness of their hearts without wanting or expecting anything in return. May God bless whoever finds it in their hearts to donate their time, talent or treasure to anyone in need.

On a side note, Friday is the day I take Harley in for his ultrasound and for him to get shaved. I am praying that they do not find anything. The only thing I am worried about is later tonight. I have to take his food and water bowls away at 8pm! My heart is going to break when he will start to beg me. I won't give in though because I don't want him to throw up during his anesthesia or during the procedures. Sigh.

You all have a wonderful Thursday!!! I'm going off to bed now...almost 12:30am. My alarm is set for 5am. Yikes! One of these days I'll go to bed early.

Sue - Thank you SO very much my friend, I really appreciate it!! You are a blessing to us! Harley sends his purrs & kisses and assures me he will be OK tomorrow. He promised.

Have a beautiful night!!!

Bud - Thank you SO much. I deleted that natueline comment. People have nothing else better to do, it is terrible. Thank you SO much about your good thoughts about Harley. You too know how much he means to me. Take care my friend!

Hey I saw your other comments and I got that gross naturline comment to and I think I saw it on debbie's site too, DELETE for me as well.

You seem to have the same "problem" with getting to bed early like I did when I worked at 5:30am shift. Tried getting in my 8 hours but I felt like a kid going to bed at 9, lol.
