Saturday 9: I Started A Joke

1. Tell us a joke that you think is funny. If you don't tell jokes tell us why.
I really stink at telling jokes. I know this is going to sound sexist..but I think men can tell a joke better than women. For some reason, men remember jokes better. At least that is the experience I have.

2. Where do you buy most of your clothes?

Haven't bought too much because 'unemployment wages' are horrible. I did purchase a long sleeved t-shirt at the college campus store. That is my favorite item of clothing. In fact, that is what I'm wearing in the pictures in yesterday's post. For school, I need to wear scrubs. I buy them from Tafford's store down in Central Jersey. I like Life Uniform's scrubs, but they are so much more expensive than Tafford and the quality isn't as good as Taffords.

3. Which famous person would you like to meet? Why?

Oh...this is an easy one - Josh Holloway who plays "Sawyer" on Lost. Do you really need to ask why?

4. What is your ultimate ambition?
My ultimate goal is to finish my program at the university and become a Registered Medical Assistant. However, with that certificate I can also try to become a Surgical Counselor for a practice. I've also been doing my externship every week at the Hospice main headquarters. I haven't done any clinicals at school yet, so I'm waiting to actually do the patient visits. BUT, I reallllly enjoy working at the headquarters. I've been doing medical records, data entry and even assisting the bereavement care counselor. I would love to work there if a position became available after my program was over. I find it is very rewarding. It is funny because the people in my class go there and leave after 2hrs. I stay for 8hrs. I love being part of something again. I can't explain it.

5. Do you like to live in the area of your country or would you prefer something a little different?
I would love to live in a place that doesn't have any snow. Seriously, I hate it with a passion. It is pretty on the trees and in Thomas Kinkade's artwork, but too dangerous for me.

6. Has a newspaper or television reporter ever interviewed you? If so, what were the circumstances and what did you think when you read or saw what you said?
Yes, back about 10 or 11 years ago when the Sopranos: Pepper and Eggs soundtrack came out, I went to a signing that featured Steven "Little Steven" Van Zandt who played Silvio Dante. I wanted to meet him for two reasons. 1)I loved the Sopranos and 2) I'm a Bruce Springsteen fan. Anyway...the county newspaper was there and they interviewed me because I was Italian and they wanted to know if I found the TV show insulting to Italian-Americans.

Here is a picture of me with Little Steven a whole decade ago!

7. What was the last CD/mp3 album that you purchased? How did you like it?
Photobucket
Actually I don't purchase any cds to be honest. Larry goes to Best Buy every Tuesday and gets some of the new releases. My favorite new release was Chickenfoot's album. But..this cd is one that I specifically asked him to purchase for me because I just love Susan Boyle's voice. I'm normally a rock-n-roll kinda girl, but I need to listen to people like her and Josh Groban every now and then for reflection, peace, and relaxation.

8. Write down 5 songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
Number 1: "When You Love A Woman" by Journey. This was my wedding song back on October 12, 1997.

Number 2: "The Wonder of You" by Elvis. This is my favorite song in the whole world. I know for alot of people it is hard to answer.."hey what is your favorite song?". This is an easy question for me. Without a shadow of a doubt. This song means the world to me.

Number 3: "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" by Billy Joel. First there is Elvis. He will always be my number one. But, Billy Joel would probably be my number 2 favorite artist. This song is fun and I just love it. The fact that we have similar accents is pretty funny when I sing along with it.

Number 4: "One" by U2. I love Bono and the band U2. This is my favorite song by them.

Number 5: "Watching The Wheels" by John Lennon. Another legend who I love. This is one of my favorite songs of his.

Number 5 and 1/2: "Simple Things" by Amy Grant. I just love her. I have since I was a freshman in high school. Yes, when she did the Contemporaty Christian music. My nun friend introduced me to her. I loved also when she crossed over to Pop too. This song is about just appreciating the simple things in life and it reminds me that it truly doesn't take much to make me happy.

9. Do you are your partner usual begin intimacy?
Boy talk about having one come out of left field. We're talking about songs and ambitions...then...BAM...a sex question. LOL! To answer honestly...my husband does. That's all your getting out of me though. LOL!

Sounds as though school is going great! I quoted Lennon recently, "Life is what happens while your busy making other plans." I love that song!

Good answers. For the record, as a man, I'm lousy at telling jokes (though I can remember them, but usually just the bad ones). Best of luck with your medical ambitions and it's cool that you enjoy it so much. Some great song choices (really like the Elvis and Billy Joel ones).
