Happy Wednesday Everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful day. I am a bit tired because I stayed up watching CNN and the Election coverage. Start political talk. Both men gave terrific speeches. History would have been made no matter the outcome. All I know is that our country is in dire need of repair. Hopefully Obama can help us. As you know I don't "do" politics so that is where my political talk will end. End political talk. Does anyone listen to audiobooks? They have become my companion for my long commute. I have listened to alot in the past two months. With 3hrs everyday, you can get through alot of them. If you have read or listened to any of these books and would like to discuss, let me know.
- "Fearless Fourteen" by Janet Evanovich (currently reading/listening)
- "Lean Mean Thirteen" by Janet Evanovich
- "Plum Lovin" by Janet Evanovich
- "Plum Lucky" by Janet Evanovich
- "Can You Keep A Secret?" by Sophie Kinsella
- "The Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella
- "Remember Me" by Sophie Kinsella (on it's way)
- "Voice Of The Poet" by Robert Frost
I belong to an online rental audiobook club. It is terrific. It is just like Netflix or Blockbuster Online. You have a queue of books you would like to read and they ship them to you. There are no late fees, and shipping is paid each way by the company. It isn't too bad price wise either. I pay $17 a month. For the two months I have belonged I have listened to 8 books already. The going rate to purchase an audiobook is approximately $25-30. I've spent $34 total. Even if we take the low end of the rate. If I were to have purchased each of those books it would have cost me about $200!! That is a tremendous savings. Plus, once I listen to it that is it. I wouldn't listen to it again. That is the beauty of sending it back and getting another one in a week or so. If anyone is interested, the company I use is Simply Audiobooks. They have many plans to choose from. You can rent the cd's to listen to or even download them from the website. Check it out if you are interested.

I love JE and Stephanie Plum. I've read all the books. But enough already. Pick one guy! You know what I mean? Maybe it is just me. Pick one. How long can you drag it on?
I personally love Ranger. I may have to check out this site. What does Ranger sound like???
LOL.
Have a great evening my friend!
Hey Jodi thanks for the "shout out!" that was so sweet of you! I mentioned you in a comment on this site: http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2008/11/todays-writing-prompt-stranger.html
as a stranger who helped me. Thanx again Bloggy Friend.
i dont do audiobooks ( i probably should) but does your library offer you free audiobook downloads? ours does. check it out!
SW - I know what you mean about her picking one guy. It is the SAME thing with every book. She loves Joe but has the hots for Ranger. Who can blame her? LOL! But Joe has been her one constant. So it is hard for me to decide.
I got to meet Janet during her Hard Eight book signing in Trenton NJ..It was AWESOME! She was terrific. Her daughter Alex was so sweet. I got pics of all of them..even her husband Peter & her son Peter JR..they all signed Hard Eight. It was a few days before my 30th birthday. "Stephanie" is 30 and has been for the past 14yrs. LOL! But she put that in my book about my being the same age as Stephanie back in 2002.
Let me know if you decide to try it out.
Hope all is well my friend!
Brenda - You are SO welcome! I didn't want you to think you weren't getting any comments. Since you didn't have an email I figured that was the only way I could get you. LOL! I'm glad I was able to help.
I'll check out the website - Thanks!!
Debbie - You know what...I checked with the library and if referred me to another website and asked me to enter my library card number. Hehehehe...it kinda expired. LOL!
I'll check into it though to see if it is worth renewing. I'm not sure though since it is a 3rd party site if it will be free.
Hope you guys are doing great
I used to travel for work and I listened to SO MANY audiobooks! I loved it! I like mysteries, too, among other styles. Some of my favorite authors are Brad Meltzer, David Baldacci, and Jeffrey (sp?) Archer.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. :)
C.Beth - Thank you for visiting my blog!! I like mysteries too. I also love autobiographies, romance and recently have a fondness for chick-lit. (both American & British)
I love audiobooks. I try to get the unabridged versions when I can so I don't "miss" anything.
I'm afraid that I'll get so involved in the story and take a wrong turn, ending up lost. I can only do two things at a time, and I'm not giving up my iced coffee!!!
Happy Thursday ...hope yours is beautiful!
Sue - I was afraid of that too. Luckily I haven't done that. Yet. LOL! I totally understand about doing only two things at once. Navigation and caffeine. Two of the things I do best. Hehehehe
I hope you have a beautiful day too my friend. Have a safe & caffeinated commute. I'm stopping for an iced one too this morning. Yay!!!
This is a great idea!! Many more choices than I can find at the library. I listen to them in my studio while I'm working, and of course, in the car! Thank you for posting this!!
