Long Ride Home

What a horrible commute home last night!!! I was totally exhausted by the time I walked in the house at 9pm!!!!! I left work at 5pm!!! What happened was on the New Jersey Turnpike near Giants Stadium a truck carrying propane was involved in an accident which caused a leak of the propane. They had to shut down part of the Turnpike. Shouldn't be a problem because I take the Garden State Parkway home which is another major highway that runs the entire length of our state. Well, it was a problem because Bruce Springsteen had another concert at Giant Stadium, his last night of his multi-night venue there. Also, in Newark, The American Idol Tour was at The Prudential Center. So we had a couple thousand going to Newark and 50,000 going to see Bruce. Then we had Jodi, trying to get home who was going home to see her husband and her cat. She was missing Bruce who she loves...and missing David Cook who she REALLY loves. Again, she was just going home. Or so she thought. It is 45 miles from my job to my house. Normally it takes me about 1hr 15min to 1hr 30min to get home. It took me FOUR hours. I was going stir crazy.

My consolation: My friend Joyce went to see The American Idols Tour last night at around 9:45pm she called me when David started to sing and she kept her cell phone on his whole set. I got to hear him sing all the songs!!!!!!! I was soooo happy. It felt like I was there. You can't even imagine the screaming that was going on. She told me that he actually started to cry because he was SO overwhelmed by the crowd, the screaming & crying. Lucky her she was in the 12th row center. He was throwing out guitar picks and she tried to get me one but was unsuccessful. But that is OK..I still heard him sing live. Well as live as I could get.

I'm up now and going in slow motion. I'm going into work on less than 4hrs sleep. I'm totally exhausted with a migraine forming. If my boss wasn't taking a half day, I would not be going in. I need c o f f e e . And lots of it. Ugh..dreading the commute to go back down there, I feel like I never left the highway.

I checked NaBloPoMo and they haven't put up August's topic yet. I'm sure they will & when they do I will post again later today. I wish you all a great day. Happy Friday!!!
