NaBloPoMo - August Day 15

Today's HOT topic is the Hot Tub. If we owned a home, we would have one of these for sure. At least if we owned our own we could control who went in there and how often it was cleaned. I will explain.

I haven't been in one of these since I went to the Poconos with my husband about 10yrs ago. Plus it wasn't a very pleasant experience because I was more concerned about how many people had been in there before and what went on in there before and "what if housekeeping didn't disinfect it before we checked in". I mean it was the Poconos for goodness sakes. I think I ruined "the mood" when I insisted we Lysol it before we went in it. You know I did because it is like the American Express card - "don't leave home without it".

Proof positive that I can really spoil the mood through my neurosis. Hey, I just got to be me. Felix Unger would have been proud!

Still awake. Yay! It is technically Friday!

Sitting here up at midnight. I will blog until I am sleepy. There! That's it!

Yesterday was a busy day at work for me. Now for those of you who don't know, I am a corporate travel agent. One client called me up with a mistake he had made. I issued two tickets for him earlier in the week - one for him & one for his friend to go to Florida for personal reasons (not a corporate trip). It turns out he misspelled his friend's last name. He "never had to write it before". He asked if this would be a problem. I said yes because of tightened security at the airport. So after an hour of my life on the phone with various agents & supervisors at one of our major domestic airlines, the problem was resolved. I had to split the record & reissue the ticket with the name correction. Luckily the airline gave me a waiver to reissue it without any penalty. Lucky for him. He was a happy man because the fee normally for changes is $150. I even waived our processing fee. He is a very nice man and he spoke with me after I had my morning coffee. So it was a win-win situation. Until....

The second part of my morning involved me & Air New Zealand and ignorance. I won't even go into the story because it is so long & it is very boring. It had to do with ticket validation. All I will say is this. I will not get back the 75 minutes of my life that was taken up by them either. On the flip side, I am thrilled that today is Friday! Yay!! It has been a long week & I am in the need of some FUN.

Saturday I am going to see both of my sisters. I am very excited. My one sister still isn't feeling well. I believe that she still has the infection in her kidney because she is still experiencing pain in her back & side where the kidney area is. She is going to see how she feels come Monday, and if she isn't feeling better she is calling the urologist. The reality of it is her antibiotics were done on Tuesday. I'm just scared. Her stent comes out on Aug 25th. Who knows? I'm hoping it is the stent that is causing this infection and when it comes out she will feel better. It has been in her body since June. Maybe it is her body's way of saying "take me out!!" . We shall see. I'm just praying the big surgery was a success & this is just a minor setback & all will be well. (I'm praying)

We do have a bit of fun news. She goes for our matching tattoo on September 6th. I am going with her. Yes, we are crazy!!
Well everyone - HAPPY FRIDAY to you all. I wish you a great day. I think I may be heading off to bed now....5am comes around SO fast.

Ooooh ...LOVE hot tubs! Someday ( probably when we need help getting in and out of it) we'll get one! Yeah, I wouldn't want to go in one that wasn't properly sanitized!
Sounds like a frustrating day at work ...I have those alot! Sometimes it helps me to remember that I'm getting paid for putting up with whatever it is that's going on!
Still sending healing thoughts and prayers your sister's way!
Hope you have a great day!

I'm glad you see my theory about it being properly sanitized because he thought I was crazy. I saw that episode of Oprah where they rated all this stuff and I won't even tell you how long hotels wait to wash the comforters on the beds. Blech!!! The first thing I do is take it off an lay it on the floor if we go anywhere. That and also the thicker furry looking blanket right underneath. The only thing I lay on is the fitted and flat sheet. We have a saying in Italian but everybody uses it...that I schkeeve it. I don't know if you ever heard that expression but it is when you get grossed out about it. LOL!

Thanks for the healing thoughts and prayers for my sister. Your the best!

Have a great day at work. I hope you don't go crazy with that big shipment.

I love hot tubs, too. If the hubbie won't mind, we'll do one sometime. ;) Seriously, I will have a good thought for your sis. Keep a positive mind...

I would have Lysol'd it, too! All this time, I have not known what you do for a living. How interesting! You probably told me when I was blogging about all of my travel fears, but I have forgotten! Still praying for your sister.
