NaBloPoMo - August Day 22

Today's HOT topic is the game Hot Potato. Have any of you played this as a child? It reminds me of musical chairs but with something that could melt the skin right off your hand. Hehehe.

Taken from Children's Party:
"The players sit around in a circle facing inwards and one is chosen as leader. The leader steps into the middle of the circle. Then an object, such "as a small potato, ball, stone or piece of wood, is passed around from player to player. Each player must accept the object and pass it very quickly.

As the object is passed, the leader closes his or her eyes or turns away. When the leader yells "HOT," the player holding the potato is out. The game is played over and over again until every player but one is out. The last one left in the game is the winner".

I've never played this version of the game. We've passed around different objects. Have you ever played this game before?? If so with a potato or a different object not so scalding to the hands?

I used to play this as a child. Always fun...until you get out! We didn't actually use a hot potato though.

Marina & Steph - You guys just enforced my belief that the game is just called Hot Potato but people don't use a potato anymore. I think too many people got burned. (no pun intended..LOL)

This bring back memories!

We played it by passing around a small pillow. Typically at birthday parties.

Never tried it with a hot potato though:)

That's a really cool picture!
