Today's HOT topic is Hot Cakes. Some refer to them as that, some refer to them as pancakes. I say - as long as you refer to them! I think that hot cakes are one of my favorite breakfast foods. I rarely have them. I love the buttermilk version with HOT maple syrup. (2 for the price of one today!) I have also had them "pigs in a blanket style". That is where they they take a piece of thin link sausage and wrap a hot cake around it. The restaurant IHOP is famous for that. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a chained restaurant. IHOP stands for International House of Pancakes. However, they are advertising that "they are not just for breakfast".

We often call them pancakes here (Philippines) and I just love eating choco chip pancakes. Half of it I put maple syrup and the rest I spread some peanut butter. Yummy!
Great post idea! I like blueberry pancakes with real butter and maple syrup. Bacon AND sausage on the side. And ...I've been known to make them for dinner!

Wapsicle - You are the 2nd person who has said they put peanut butter on their pancakes. Very interesting. I've never tried it that way.
Sue - Thanks! It really is a shame we didn't live closer. We would so do breakfast...them & coffee. YUM! I too could eat them for dinner. I haven't had a pancake in months. I might need to remedy that.

never tried peanut butter on them - interesting. But I have to put some butter and sugar free maple syrup for taste.
I could eat them morning, noon, and night. Plain pancakes with maple syrup and a hint of butter; sausage on the side. Yum, yum!
I love pancakes! I like them traditional. With butter, Maple syrup and a side of bacon.

I'm sorry everyone!! I made myself hungry too!! hehehe..My hubby just called me from work on his lunch break and we normally try and go out on Sundays when he gets home for dinner. He asked me "Where do you want to go?" I told him we will decide when you get home....Maybe I'll say IHOP (International House of Pancakes) Now I'm in the mood for pancakes. I only have myself to blame. LOL
My pancakes are blueberry with warm maple syrup...served by a hot waitress. (I can't help myself...)
